Hi all! Hope everyone is doing great out there! Just wrapped up and amazing film called Dear Santa that shot in Calgary Alberta Canada. Was great to be back not only to film, but to see all my friends and family there. Always love spending time in a city so dear to me. It was my first real comedic role and I was really nervous. But I was along side amazing, generous and caring cast, so literally after my first scene, I knew it was going to be a terrific experience. Amy Acker was our leading lady, and it was terrific working with her!! Jason Priestley was our director, and again, amazing and very talented. All in all, it was bitter sweet to wrap up.
Back in the most beautiful city in the world, Vancouver BC, and reading for some incredible projects, as well as enjoying the NHL Playoffs and lots of family and friends time! An amazing balance. I'll post new casting and project info for you guys soon as I can....until then, take care and find me on Twitter if you like! (holdentome)
Love to all!

Hello Blog!
07 February 2011
Hello my blog! It's been a long time since I've written here. Twitter makes it very easy to do quick updates and it's taken me away from here. It makes me a little sad because my website is important to me and it all started here. I always try to keep it updated and fresh, so I'm sorry for leaving it so long.
Things move so fast these days. Time passes much too quickly.
The holidays went by too quickly so here we are already well into the new year. I am back at work on a great set here in Los Angeles. I will clear details and post more soon as I can. It's great to meet new cast and crew and be in a fresh place with work. Looking forward to some other great projects as well, just going through some prep on those.
Below I have posted something very close to me. One of my best friends had it posted at his work station many years ago---right around the same time I took the chance to follow my dream of acting. It changed things for me and changed my perspective on the way I was going to live my life. I often read it when I'm feeling down or defeated or just need to stay strong in this crazy world. I'm sure many of you have read it, but I will leave it here for you all to look at and hopefully give you the inspiration it gave me to stay strong, believe in yourself and always let your inner light shine.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
It's all good...
21 December 2010
Hi all...what an incredible year! Sorry so long for a blog, but it's been ridiculously busy, and with my new Twitter addiction, I've neglected writing here. But here I am to say hello to all, and say Happy Holidays!
Been prepping tons of auditions, reading pilots, and still trying to hack away at my pilot (just for fun because no, my writing has not improved..haha) but the best part about my December back home (aside from all the amazing work i've been blessed with) has been my Volunteer work. Thanks to all the generous folks who donated this year. So many families in our community have been reached by your generosity. And special thanks to The Vancouver Food Bank for having me.
hmm what else??? Oh I love dancing! I've been in the gym alot but I came home tonight and danced around while listening to "shy guy" (Diana King) on full, and I mean full blast...followed by "Automatic" (Pointer Sisters). Im so inspired and excited for the new year. I also love studying this way, almost always, I have very loud music in my headphones while I dance around and study. It's just how I do it. Love it.
Can't wait for tons of fun family time over the next few days, and then back to work....so have a great Christmas and New Year. I'll be on Twitter until next time...
Love and respect to all family, fans, friends, and even you haters...just keep on keepin on whatever your style is. It's all good...
Update and it's the real me..
02 December 2010
Hi again....soooooo this totally sucks and seems like a constant problem but, hopefully this will end the confusion. Another fake twitter account was discovered, but this time, even worse cause the person was actually writing to friends as me :( so i'm posting this note on my official site so
EVERYONE knows how to find the real me. I now have a Twitter page. It is "holdentome". I won't use
it too much, but I really don't want fake ones out there anymore, so if you want to join there, that is great...NO OTHER TWITTER pages out there are me...only this one. I thank all my fans for the facebook fan sites and any other pages that you made for me...I really appreciate it...but as for personal stuff like Twitter, I think it's best to know you have the real me on there...
Hope all is well out there and I'll post pictures from the CBC food drive that's happening tomorrow here in Vancouver!! 700 Hamilton Street if you would like to take a tour of the studio and donate to families in need! Every little bit helps, so come on down!
xoxo g

Fashion Blog by request!
05 December 2009
Fashion Blog for you!
How are you all doing? I'm going to blog about fashion today cause i have been getting some requests (and compliments-thank-you!) from my awesome female fans out there, about my style tips and how I choose my clothing for red carpets and events etc. So I'll write you some of my biggest do's and don'ts !!
Rule # 1. ALWAYS BE COMFORTABLE
My amazing agent and friend taught me this one. When I first started getting really busy and having to go to red carpets and premieres etc, I was always so nervous of what to wear! And the first and only piece of advice she told me was "just be comfortable". And it is true. Whether it be a work Christmas party, or Hollywood premiere, you must be comfortable. Forget what other people are wearing, and choose something you know you will be confident in. Express your own style. If you over do it, and feel awkward, you will look ridiculous and end up leaving early or just not having a good time. Of course be event specific though-if there is a dress code, you must follow that. But other than that, shop around for what you like and know you will rock in!
Rule # 2. NEVER FAKE IT!
This applies to oh so many things in life but I feel it is huge in fashion. Some of you won't like this. With the economy the way it is, and everyone watching their pocket books, this might hurt. But never ever wear fake designer clothing, or accessories...especially purses and handbags!! It just doesn't work. It looks so tacky and is really really obvious. No matter how good that vendor might look on the street in New York City, DON'T DO IT! It's just plain tacky. My fix? Save up and set money aside every month for the real thing. It won't take as long as you think. And they are expensive for a reason. The craftsmanship on many high end items is incredible and will last you many many seasons. My first big purchase was a gorgeous brown Balenciaga four years ago. I still have it and use it all the time. It gets better with age...just like us ladies! So it's worth it to save up. If you just can't afford it and you know it, then find other great bags and be original for crying out loud. I love the "Joe" line at Superstore in Canada. They have some great bags for super cheap. I bought a great day bag there for 34$ and it is not trying to be something it's not! Also, go to a great second hand store. Vintage is in! So much great stuff to choose from. And be proud of your inexpensive finds....at least your not being a poser with a fake Louis Vuitton!
Rule # 3. DRESS YOUR AGE FOR GOODNESS SAKE
Teens out there- go wild! Discover, explore and play! This is the time in life to find out what you like! There are no rules for you!
20's- Refine your style a little more. This is when you are getting out in the work force, so enjoy the dress pants and fun suits...then put on your party wear for going out. My only rule there? Keep it classy! Honestly, cheap looking girls are a dime a dozen. It may get you attention...but probably not from the right kind of guy....know what I mean?
30's -ok ladies...do you really think bleaching your hair and wearing pig tails to the bar looks good? I'm all for "being yourself" but seriously...don't you think it's silly? I love seeing woman in classy, classic clothing for work, and smart casual for the rest of the time. Skip the hot pink juicy couture head to toe jump suit when your picking up the kids, and go for jeans and a t-shirt. If your dressing to young and overdoing the make-up, you just date yourself. Be proud of your age and wisdom! Yay 30's
40's and up? Not sure. I'm not there yet, so I guess I'll just say, find a balance.
Rule #4 DON'T BE SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT!
If you are short, don't wear the platform flip flops! All that says is, I'm short and I'm trying to be tall! Sorry, but it's true. Wear and great pair of heels from time to time for sure, just don't try too hard. You can't fake your height!
If you are tall, great! Go buy a great pair of Christian Louboutin flats...yummy!
Ballet flats are sooooo cute for girls of all heights!
Ok . There you go girls! I hope you like my advice and have great shopping experiences forever!

Holidays already??
24 November 2009
How can that be? Man time is flying by fast. Things have been so busy. Filming "Life Unexpected" was great. Finally got to work with the lovely Erin Karpluk!! After all these years! I've always been a fan of hers, so to finally get to spend some time on set together was great. And congratulations Erin! She also brought home a Gemini Award during the shoot!!!! All of us are very proud of her!
What else?? Just tons of auditions and fun work. Did ADR for "Legend of the Seeker" here in LA yesterday.....SOOOOO awesome to see some of it! Not sure when it's airing yet, I will post when I hear something. Anyway,I guess it's time to gear up for Christmas....I'm usually so on top of that stuff but I just haven't had time this year.
Ok gotta run....

Jet Lag
06 October 2009
Harsh Jet Lag. Now that I'm back on Canadian soil, I find myself completely twisted and unable to get back into a normal sleeping pattern. Usually I never get jet lag, so this is new for me. So I'm up. Late. Reading, writing, listening to music. Over in New Zealand, I discovered La Roux. Really enjoying her music. Especially "Bulletproof" and "Fascination". People over there really know how to live. I learned alot about life down there. Simple is better. What else can I say, I feel like if I don't stop writing right now I'll never stop! But that would move into diary mode, and I really don't want to go from blog to diary...so, I leave at this for now.
But yeah-music for now is La Roux
Food is Swiss Chalet
New Boots are Rachel Comey
Show Legend of the Seeker of course. It was AMAZING to work on.
Trailer Time
22 September 2009
Hey all.
Just sitting in my trailer in the most beautiful location in New Zealand....far out of the city. So green and lush. We are filming some outdoor shots today, and I am waiting out the rain. So quiet out here. So beautiful.
Big day yesterday...my stunt double got kicked in the face during our fight scene (not by me thank god!!) but it was a big hit and she got her nose broken in 2 places!! She is so hard core though that she just taped it up and kept going!! What a trooper!! I love you Dana! You are so bad ass!! I will attempt to do the fight on Saturday when we shoot my coverage...hopefully, all faces will be in tact when I'm done!!
Peace love happiness to all.

F*in Choice!
20 September 2009
Sorry, it's been a minute since I've written anything, but it's been so busy. I had hardly any time to get ready for my trip to Auckland, but once I finally got on the plane I was able to chill and work my script and let the excitement sink in.
It is so amazing here! The show is incredible and the locations are so stunning. I love new countries and exploring new cultures. That's one of the best things about my job, all the amazing places i get to go to. And working here is such a treat. I'm picking up all the local lingo, and am so comfortable, I don't want to leave! I miss my family and friends no doubt, but this is such an incredible experience, I am not wasting a second. I'm not back home until October so I have lot's more time to sight see and tour around.
On the work front, I am getting in such amazing shape from my stunt work. I am training alot for my fight scenes, which is so fun! I've done alot of stunt work with guns, and blood and gore, but I have never done anything like what I'm doing on this...! So cool and no lack of energy or motivation to kick ass!! LOL...I've been doing a ton of modern dance back home so I'm already bumped and bruised...it couldn't have been better timing for an offer like this....
hmmmm, what else...song of the day....
"If it aint ruff" NWA
ha ha...and that's it-- working like mad a LOVING it...it's f*ing choice.
Cheers!
09 September 2009
Holy smokes, what a crazy busy time....been auditioning tons and loving the summer, and now it's off to shoot my next show in New Zealand! I have never been there, so I'm reading about it as much as I can. Can't wait to explore a new country. I'm sure we will be filming in some pretty amazing areas, i will try my best to get pictures up when I can. I'm also really excited for the first class flight! There is nothing more indulgent I think. It's so fun. I'll be there for 3 weeks, back just in time for hockey season...man it's been too long. That's the only thing I don't like about summer! No hockey....
What else, not bringing a new book on the plane, it's all about my word search and puzzles! I love crosswords, so it's on. 15 hours in the air, I'm going for a record! lol
ok all, take it easy!
